We received free lodging at Lighthouse Inn, and as always, all opinions are 100% my own.

Every summer, we pack the kids into the car and go on a road trip mini vacation. We have visited places in Florida, South Carolina, Maryland, Pensylvania, among others that are closer to home in New Jersey. This time we chose Massachusetts!
I’ve always wanted to travel to Cape Cod after hearing it is one of Massachusetts’ most beloved summer destinations, and now I totally understand why! With beautiful beaches, charming coastal towns, and a wide variety of unique activities, a getaway to Cape Cod is a memorable experience that you’ll be talking about for years to come.

Last week we had the opportunity to spend 3 nights at the Lighthouse Inn, and I could not be happier! I shared a few highlights of our trip on Instagram and today I am sharing all the details here with you.

Lighthouse Inn is located in West Dennis, MA on Cape Cod. Opened in 1938, this family owned and operated full-service resort hotel offers a private sandy beach, heated pool, family activities and a full service restaurant with panoramic ocean views. They are certainly an awesome destination for family vacations.

We arrived on Tuesday around 1pm. Check in starts at 3pm, but you can park your car and take advantage off all the amenities. They encorage guests that arrive prior to check in time to leave a cellphone number with front desk so they can contact you as soon as the accomodation is available. You are welcome to use the pool and the beach, and there is a place to shower and change at the pool.

Acommodations
Lodging accommodations are provided in Cape-style guest houses and cottages. They have one, two and three bedroom cottages, family suites and guest rooms. We stayed at cottage number 32 which is a perfect and cozy three bedroom space. All bedrooms have a full bath and also there is a living room area with an adorable wood burning fireplace, cable TV, small refrigerator, microwave and air conditioning. Our cute cottage offered privacy and was just a few steps from the beach. I love that we had a place to seat outside and just enjoy the beach breeze and the peaceful nights!

The lighthouse Inn also provides many options for family reunions, weddings celebrations and groups, couples and family vacations. If you are looking for seclusion and relaxation, Lighthouse Inn will definitely make your stay enjoyable and one to remember!
Amenities
Of course, a trip to the beach usually means a focus on low-key activities to wipe the school-year stress away. From the moment you step foot into Lighthouse Inn, you are covered! You can plan to spend the day at the private beach building sandcastles or splashing in their heated outdoor pool.

Lighthouse Inn is just as family-friendly as can be. There are so many things for kids of all ages to do such as tennis, shuffleboard, volleyball, basketball, mini golf (my kids favorite), playground and lawn games (corn hole, connect four and ladder toss).
The kids playground was just steps from our cottage so I could sit down on my lounging chair and watch the kids play! So relaxing!

Activities
In addition to all these amenities, there is also a schedule with family activities fun. During our stay I was able to join Beach Yoga on Wednesday from 7:30 -8:30am before heading into the restaurant for breakfast. We also planned to go see the magician on Thursday night but our little ones did not make it 🙂 They were so tired after a full day playing at the beach and pool and they felt asleep.

At check in they will provide a whole week schedule packed with family activities from beach yoga, to beach band, outdoor movie, magician and campfire with S’mores.
Also, I can not forget to mention all the cottontails residents. They are all around the grounds and are just adorable. It actually became an activity for my boys to run after the bunnies. I think the bunnies were glad when we checked out!

Dining
If you want to check in, park your car and not leave until the day of check out, this place is for you. The Waterfront Restaurant at Lighthouse Inn offers breakfast (included in your stay), lunch and dinner and they also have a pool snack bar. Seat inside with panorama views or enjoy your meal overlooking the Nantucket Sound at the oceanfront deck. The staff were so friendly and the food was amazing!

My boys did not want to leave the pool during lunch to go get changed and eat, so we were just very glad for the pool snacks bar. The boys were mostly playing in the water by lunch time and we could just order snacks from the confort of our beach chairs at the pool. The staff was really friendly and accommodating and the drinks were so good!

If I had to choose one word to describe our time at the Lighthouse Inn, it would be AMAZING! I am so happy we were able to join them for the 83rd season! We truly had a very relaxing and fun time and plan to go back for another family trip very soon!
