My family was given complimentary stay at The Hershey Lodge through the Sweetest Families Blogger Program 2023. As always, all opinions are my own.

Last weekend we headed to Hersheys for a sweet stay at the Hershey Lodge. It was our first time experiencing the lodge stay. We stayed at The Hotel Hershey over the summer and we loved it, but we had heard great things about the Lodge being perfect for a family of young kids. So we wanted to check it out!

Check in

From the the moment you enter the Hershey Lodge, you feel at home. The place is so inviting, warm, cozy and comforting. We could stay all day long just at the lobby sitting by the fireplace and admiring the beautiful holiday decoration and stunning Christmas tree.

At check in you get complimentary Hershey chocolate bars and they also offer a kids check in for fun. Kids get to sign the “kids at Hershey Lodge” guest book, participate in a Hershey’s candy guessing game, and receive their own chocolate surprise. They even give kids a lanyard that can be personalized with their name and contact information.

Family Activities

During the holidays, the Hershey Lodge offers so many fun ways to celebrate. There is a list of activities that are FREE to enjoy. During our stay there was chocolate bingo, fall craft, turkey scavenger hunt, Hershey’s character appearance, pumpkin patch hunt and s’mores delight.

The boys had a really fun time meeting up Hershey’s characters at the lobby while wearing their pajamas.

Guest room

Make yourself at home in their unique guest rooms. Their accommodations are so much fun and complete with chocolate-themed artwork and decor. Everything is themed and with Hershey chocolate names. We stayed at the kisses tower building.

Indoor Pool Complex

Another fun activity is the Hershey’s Water Works. The water park will keep your kids entertained the entire day. There is nothing cooler than enjoying a fun water park day when it’s freezing outside!

Hershey’s Water Works is so much fun and very family friendly. The pools are just the right size and depth for little kids, and it’s laid out in a way that Mom and Dad can really keep an eye on everyone while having a great time themselves.

My boys absolutely love everything about this unique indoor waterpark. From the Reese’s Water Walk to Twizzlers Waterslides to dumping buckets to water basketball, there is so much for the kids to do. The adults can also play and join in the fun! Or can just choose to stay in the adults only hot tub! You can also order food and drinks at the Cocoa Cabana inside the water park.

Dinning Options

The Hershey Lodge also offers many dining options all of which are really good! It’s great to have all you need from food to entertainment and not have to leave the resort! We tried a few places for dinner, snacks, ice cream and breakfast. Our favorite spot for dinner was the Bear’s Den. It is a family friendly sports bar that offers a wide variety of meal options. There are also tons of televisions so you can enjoy the big game. Their burgers were very delicious and they have a great kids menu.

Another favorite restaurant for our family is the Fire and Grain. We went there for breakfast and loved their wonderful breakfast buffet. There were so many options to choose from and everything was excellent!

Also if you need to grab a quick snack, coffee or ice cream, Cocoa Beanery is a really good place. Their ice cream was delicious.

And if you are just hanging out at the pool and get hungry, no worries! You can order salads, starters, sandwiches and drinks from the Cocoa Cabana.

Hersheypark Christmas CandyLane, Hershey Story Museum, Hershey Gardens

If you are a guest at The Hershey Lodge, when you check in you automatically get complimentary tickets for Hershey Story Museum and Hershey Gardens. Because we were only staying over the weekend and wanted to enjoy the resort the most, we did not visit those sites during our stay.

The tickets are usually valid for a week or so and because we live not too far from Hersheys I took the kids later on the week to visit The Hershey Story Museum and we had already seen the garden during our summer stay.

Also guests of he Hershey Lodge can celebrate the holidays by taking the free transportation over to Christmas Candylane at Hersheypark. Packages are available that include passes to the park or you can purchase discounted tickets in the lobby. And don’t forget to check out the Hershey Sweet Lights. A fun drive through on 2 miles of wooded trails, nearly 600 illuminated, animated displays plus a custom-made holiday radio station that you can listen on your drive.
